Outdoor sports and activities give children opportunity to share, laugh and have fun. While a child may consider winning as the ultimate objective, it’s important to point out that the real objective may have absolutely nothing to do with winning, but how the game is played.
At Beaconhouse 17-G, Junior Campus, through out the whole week 6th – 10th December, students practiced ,and participated, in Inter-house athletics competitions, from Pre-Nursery up till Level 2. Students proudly represented their ‘houses’ i.e: Jinnah, Iqbal , Sohail Abbas and Jahangir Khan.
Inter-house athletics were fully inclusive , where every child took part and was recognized for both the success and their own personal achievements. Through athletics we believe children can develop the skills necessary to enjoy a lifelong love of sport.
“Victory is in the quality of the sport, not the final score”
The skills of running, jumping ,shifting, and throwing were covered through a variety of races .Moreover students displayed colourful and well coordinated performances, such as march past, yoga presentations ,hula hoops dances, ribbon dance and basic gymnastics .
The young athletes shared their experiences with family members , as they cheered and clapped for them from the audience . Miss Suad ,Miss Javeria ,Miss Amara along with PE teachers ( Sir Jhonathan, Sir Azhar ) and class teachers lead the whole week with great enthusiasm, encouraging students along the way and distributing certificates with golden stars among the young athletes .
“The spirit, the will to win and to excel are the things that endure .These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur”
