Today, Grade 6 students took part in a fun and educational Farmers’ Market activity right here on campus! Leading up to the event, students worked in groups to prepare their own market stalls. Some used fresh fruits and vegetables to provide yummy treats, while others created homemade goods like candles, cosmetics and many more.
The day was all about learning key life skills such as pricing, budgeting, and marketing. Students practised maths by calculating costs and determining prices for their products. They also honed their communication skills as they interacted with customers—explaining their goods and making deals. Using “market rupees,” they bought and sold items, gaining experience with money management and exchange.
Not only that the students also gave presentation on Balanced Diet, to spread awareness about the healthy habits which start by taking the right eating choices.
The market was filled with energy as students haggled, compared products, and made sales, while other students of Grade 4 , Grade 5 and parents enjoyed shopping. The event not only offered a hands-on economics lesson but also emphasised teamwork, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Farmers’ Market was a great success, and we hope to host more events like this in the future.
It was an amazing way for the Grade 6 students to put their knowledge into practice while having a blast with their classmates!
