Taking place at the BCP Qasimabad campus, Dr. Nisar – whose qualifications consist of MBBS, MCPS, FCPS – and Dr. Sadaqat – who is the consultant gynecologist at CMH Hyderabad -addressed an assembly of girls. Showcasing their ample knowledge, yet keeping the register intelligible, an interactive session was carried out.
Dr. Nisar began the session by sharing her life experiences as a young girl herself, making mention of a dear friend who she tragically lost to the tumor. She launched into the presentation by staying coherent and precise on what breast cancer is, its causes, prevention, and facts and myths regarding this disease. She also delved into how females could carry out self-examinations appropriately and when they should reach out to a physician.
Dr. Sadaqat also brought our attention to the stigma surrounding breast cancer prevalent in South Asian society, and how it contributes to the concerning incline in death due to this particular tumor. By firmly assuring the students, she not only educated them on this pressing matter, but also made them feel comfortable in their skin.
The orientation was concluded with a Q&A Session, where the two proficient medical experts answered queries and cleared any lingering doubts.
