Research proves that learning through hands-on experiences helps students grasp the concepts fast, enhance retention skills and make learning fun. The recent Science lessons in Grade VI created opportunities for students to experience Station Learning Strategy. There were 4 learning stations set up in a hall. Students were divided into small groups. They moved from one learning station to another and carried out hands-on activities to investigate distinctive properties of Metal and Non-Metal, to test the electric and thermal conductivity of metals, to explore hardness as well as magnetism of materials and to measure the density of materials. Students jotted down the findings of their investigation on the record sheet. The station learning strategy enhanced students ‘ engagement in the lesson and encouraged them to immerse themselves in the topic.
