On January 25, the Early Years Campus, Block 14, Jauhar, conducted two thoughtfully planned professional development sessions on differentiation for Early Years and Lower Primary teachers. Each session was conducted separately, keeping in mind the unique needs and classroom realities of both sections, and created a welcoming space for teachers to reflect, share, and grow.
The sessions were led by the respective School Coordinators, along with the Subject Lead and Instructional Coach, who guided teachers through meaningful discussions around understanding learners more deeply. The focus was not just on strategies, but on recognizing that every child enters the classroom with different abilities, interests, and learning styles.
Through interactive conversations and relatable examples, teachers reflected on their everyday classroom practices. The discussions highlighted how a uniform approach to teaching can sometimes limit student potential, and how small, intentional changes can make learning more accessible and engaging for all students. Differentiation was presented not as an added burden, but as a mindful approach that helps teachers connect with every learner in a more meaningful way.
What stood out during the sessions was the openness among teachers. They shared their experiences, challenges, and successful moments, learning from one another in a supportive environment. Practical ideas such as flexible grouping, varied activities, and adapting tasks based on students’ skill levels were explored in depth.
By the end of the sessions, there was a sense of renewed clarity and purpose. Teachers left with not only practical strategies, but also a deeper understanding of their role in shaping inclusive classrooms.
The sessions served as a gentle reminder that when teaching is aligned with students’ individual needs and interests, it creates a classroom where every child feels valued and empowered to learn.
