Show Empathy – Help those in need

When someone is struggling with their mental health, pledge them that they don’t have to struggle in silence. In fact these people should be treated the same way if they would have a broken leg. Simple and small gestures can reassure that they are not alone. We can show that we care for them by checking in on them often, sending them flowers or even sharing some ice cream.

For a person who trusts you and opens up in front of you, it’s a big step. Recognize that it is an immense deal to disclose your worries to others. All you need to offer them is empathy. Patience and ears to listen can be a huge help. Reassure them that you will always be there to listen when they need to talk.
