Super Speller Contest

Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters”.

Beaconhouse School System has always strived to provide an abundance of co-curricular activities to their students to enable them to realize and develop personal potential. The young children at Kindergarten and Lower Primary learn words and spellings through creative assignments and spelling activities. The ability to understand more words  can spark a love for language, reading and learning in students.

 

Keeping in mind the importance of spellings we organized ‘Super Speller Contest’ for the students of Kindergarten and Grade One at BKI-PWD. Super Speller Contest was a spelling competition, wherein each student was asked to spell a set of words from the given list. Participation in Preliminary round was mandatory for all the students of Kindergarten and Grade One. The top three students from each class qualified for the Semifinal round. Winners of Semifinal round  contested for the final round. Winners of semifinal and final round were awarded with badges and certificates.

This contest was a huge success because of over whelming response of the parents and participants. The students performed exceptionally well and amazed us with their ability to memorize spellings at this tender age.
