‘THERE IS NO DEPTH TO EDUCATION WITHOUT ART’ – AMIRI BARAKA

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY ART?

Art is the expression of our thoughts and imagination. It is a language that speaks deeper than words, with its own beauty and logic. Art is a process of personal discovery, involving both the rational and non-rational mind. Beauty is often associated with art. But Art is not just about creating something beautiful, it is about creating something meaningful and effective.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS ONE CAN COMPREHEND BY
ART?

Art is essential for children’s healthy development across all domains including academic,
social, emotional, physical and cognitive areas of learning. It helps them develop self-expression skills as well as critical thinking abilities which is an essential skill set for any person to succeed in today’s society. Art education builds skills such as collaboration, communication, problem solving and critical thinking within students. It allows us to look into our feelings and share them leading to mutual understandings.

WHY SHALL PEOPLE THINK ABOUT CHOOSING THIS
SUBJECT?

Artistic expression has always been the most effective way of communicating ideas through
images rather than words alone. We share thoughts via artworks containing complex meanings behind them that cannot be expressed in any other way except by using visual arts. Art helps in understanding ourselves, exploring our thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. Studying art will help you to express yourself creatively, developing visual learning strategies, and think critically about what you see or hear. You ask yourself, who am I and what am I trying to communicate?

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES PLANNED IN YOUR SCHOOL TO
