School is often portrayed as a space where we learn facts and receive knowledge from our teachers, but it’s not just limited to that. It’s a space for students to feel safe, learn, grow, experience, and overcome challenges and hurdles together that also help foster a good life for us in the future. Looking at the time I’ve spent in school, I’ve not only grown academically, but I’ve also developed a good personality and learned my values. School is not just a place where we read, memorize, and test our academics, it’s a place where we also learn from challenges and the people around us.

At first, we started with the basics which seemed like a very normal and boring process that has to go on for years but with time, I realized that learning and schooling has a lot more for me than just academic facts, especially BEC. I didn’t start my early years with BEC but the amount of time I have spent here has been the best time of my life and the most memorable years in terms of both education, and growth. The teachers, my fellow students, everyone around me has taught me something valuable in life. Let it be the Pythagoras theorem or how to value others and myself. BEC has given me the most valuable educational experience of my life which I will always and forever carry with myself.

As I progressed through school, I developed interests in subjects that I once disliked. My highly supporting teachers encouraged me and helped me understand things that I was unsure of, sparking a special interest for these subjects. Especially English, through writing, I learned to convey my feelings, thoughts and create stories that inspired others in different ways. Not only did this pave my academic path, but also my personal goals and morals. My curiosity wasn’t just limited to one subject, I explored science, especially Biology and discovered the path I wanted to pursue as I moved on with my studies.

Of course, my time in BEC wasn’t full of exciting and positive things. I faced challenges and pressure just like every other individual but that came with learning how to overcome problems, whether big or small. This developed strategic and creative thinking in me which allows me to deal with every situation effectively while keeping a balance with other people. However, one of the most important things I learned throughout my journey was that failing and trying again wasn’t something to be ashamed of, or opposite to success. It was a fair part of your progress and it only shows how dedicated you are towards reaching your goal, unless you decide to give up early. My teachers and friends were a major supporting barrier behind me because not only did they help me academically, but they also gave me the strength to keep trying and provided me with a positive mindset when I was feeling low. It was an experience full of surprises that were mostly worth it.

Furthermore, school isn’t just about academics, but also about making and maintaining relationships. I have developed some very important and valuable relationships throughout my journey and these were mostly developed from interactions with my classmates and teachers. They have taught me how to respect, value and care about others while not being completely selfless. I’ve learned to work together, formal codes of work, communication skills, socializing skills, analyzing and resolving skills, as well as friendships that are worth the effort.

As I look on my journey, I have had a unique experience with BEC that not many people get to experience. I’ve not only grown intellectually, but socially and emotionally as well. The lessons I’ve learned and the skills that I’ve fostered will not only help me move on in life, but will also allow me to make wise and useful decisions. I’ve learned to approach issues and conflicts with a positive mindset. Thanks to the experience I’ve had in BEC, I am excited to use my new skills in and out of the classroom and in every aspect of my life. Not only am I strong academically, but my personality and point of view on life has also been strengthened and cared for in BEC which makes me excited to be independent and successful. And you know what the best part is? This adventure, full of surprises, has just begun.
