Jessica Ennis Hill rightly said and I quote, “The only one who can tell you that you can’t win, is you, and you don’t have to listen”.
In order to develop sportsmanship and problem-solving skills, we incorporate sports activities into our daily school routine. As sports teaches us about teamwork, team spirit, and working together to achieve a common goal. It also boosts self-esteem and reduces stress and academic pressure which our children go through every day of their lives. It is also about building trust and responsibility and about dealing with success and failures in a positive and healthy manner.
To showcase our students’ sports skills, Sports Day was celebrated enthusiastically for Early Years on Friday, April 1st, 2022 in our beautiful campus ground where doors were widely opened for the welcoming gesture of perseverance, teamwork, patience, involvement, and empathy.
The parents, especially the grandparents, in the blessed, bright, sunny weather, were there to support and boost our budding athletes who were preparing day in and out for a week to entertain us with their unmatchable performance on the field.
To show us uniformity and unity, students entered the ground with the march past. They were led by the Headboy; Syed Zumair Ali Shah, and Headgirl; Zara Jehanzaib. “Without Self-discipline success is impossible!” This was rightly depicted in their performance.
Oath-taking and pigeon flying also took place at the start of the event.
Our young athletes showed how fit and physically active they were through their amazing performance; an energizing exercise drill that set the tone for the rest of the event.
The students of classes Pre Nursery -Grade 1 competed in Ball Sorting, Hoola Hoop, Pasting, Hurdle, Sack Race, and Ball Hopping Race.
Medals were distributed among the winners, whereas the certificates were handed to all striving participants.
To show their strength and spirit, mothers participated in the Mothers vs. Teachers Tug of War against our team of courage and strength; The Teachers. This also became the point of excitement for the day. There was a race for fathers too, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The presence and enthusiastic participation of the parents made the event fabulous and their valuable feedback made us all ready and full of energy for the Sports Day of Primary, Middle, and O level the next day.
