My MUN experience: Behind the scenes by Rija Ali Khan 10 C Indigo

I have never been to an MUN event before, this was my first ever, and one thing I was
really comfortable with was that it took place in my own school. I really didn’t
know much about MUNs besides the fact that it stands for Model United Nations. I
was part of the host team, decor department, so we oversaw the decorations done
for all the 3 days of the event. I’m pretty much of an introvert so seeing people Ive
never seen before and talking to them felt like a totally different experience.

Of course, I had my friends to hang out with, two of them were in the same department as me so I was not truly alone and I ended up
making so many new friends as well. The first day we had a concert of Taha G. I had never
heard of this artist before, so I searched him up all over google and Instagram, and I listened to a few of his songs during breaks.
And then I remember having so much fun at the concert, my throat was sore and dry. And it’s something I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

On the second day, we had a global village. It was this small event which represented different countries all over the world and I was helping with the setting and giving them ideas. I was with my friend, so we joked and worked, that’s something I’d never forget. And it was winters, so the cold weather made everything even better including my birthday. Not many people knew but it was fun seeing school more than as a place where we study, give exams, and then study more.

Last day was the most memorable, it was a formal dinner, so we had a lot of free time as well. I sat with my friends at the table, and
we joked and laughed out loud. Someone in my friend group even brought a
speaker and we sang songs but then we were sadly toldto shut it off.

Even though this event lasted only 3 days, I will never forget the memories I made, the new personalities I met, and how it kind of made me a more outgoing person.
