School Educational Trips are valued as an important part of the school curriculum as they allow experiential learning as well as enhance students’ social skills outside of the classroom. In this regard, Beaconhouse Early Years & Primary Campus E-11, Islamabad, organized a field trip to Lok Virsa for grades I –V.

At 9:00 am, they left for their journey. The children particularly enjoyed the bus ride to Lok Virsa. After arrival, students were given the freedom to explore the variety of artifacts displayed at Lok Virsa. They were briefed about the relics and their history by the teachers who accompanied them. Furthermore, students were encouraged to draw connections between their observations and the information they had previously acquired through classroom learning. Students were fascinated to discover and learn about the plethora of different cultures which exist in various regions of Pakistan. The students also witnessed the famous ‘Heer & Ranjha’, Uncle Sargam, the ancient Chinese attire and maps of neighboring countries of Pakistan.

They, too, had a great time at the picnic, remembering not to trash the land and to keep the environment clean. All in all, students gained hands-on experience through the field trip and a much needed break from an arduous school schedule.
