Grade 1B’s winter-themed morning assembly offered a meaningful blend of learning, confidence-building, and community spirit. The children showcased their understanding of the winter season through engaging presentations, songs, and narration, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere for parents. Following the assembly, a hands-on parent-child activity invited families to repurpose old coffee jars into creative mason jars, an experience designed to promote sustainability, collaboration, and shared creativity. This blog brings together reflections from parents who appreciated the thoughtful planning, the children’s confidence, and the opportunity to engage in a purposeful learning experience with their child.

I wanted to share that as a parent, there are few moments more fulfilling than watching your child shine, and today’s morning assembly was one of those truly special moments. The presentation of Grade 1B on the winter season was not only informative but also incredibly heartwarming. The children brought the season to life with their charming performances, confidently sharing how winter changes the world around us—from the clothes we wear to the food we enjoy.

I felt immense pride watching my son take on the role of moderator and announcer. He spoke with such clarity and confidence; it was a joy to see him lead his peers with such poise. The winter song was a delightful highlight, filling the room with laughter and cheer.

The parent-child activity of recycling old coffee jars into beautiful mason jars was a lovely touch. It was creative, meaningful, and a wonderful way to bond. Ending the session with a shared cold coffee treat in our handmade jars made the experience even more memorable.

A heartfelt thank you to the teacher Ms. Rehana for orchestrating such a thoughtful and joyful event. Her dedication and encouragement were evident in every smile and every word spoken. It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to be part of this nurturing school community.

Had a great time at the assembly event today. The children performed with a lot of confidence. All the credit goes to the teacher for encouraging them. I look forward to assembly presentations every year now! The activity that was arranged for students and parents after the assembly was all the more enjoyable. Loved how we were given a chance to let our creative juices flow along with our children. Loved how we created something meaningful from something that was kept away in the cupboard after using it to find “purpose.” Would definitely encourage more activities like this to be arranged in the future.

As both a parent and the school coordinator, the joy I feel during assemblies and parental engagement activities becomes something almost magical. These moments seem to float through the school like soft echoes of laughter, curiosity, and growing confidence. With my heart deeply rooted in Early Years, I see learning unfold like petals opening to morning light, each day offering tiny wonders that blend into a gentle rhythm of discovery.

Our Lower Primary children, moving from the Early Years into the wider world of upper grades, carry their own quiet sparkle. Their excitement, hesitations and small victories weave together into a story that feels both delicate and uplifting. Overseeing EY and LP allows me to hold these moments close, cherishing every milestone as though each child were a piece of my own heart.

And always, the truth shines softly. Every child blooms in their own time, glowing brightest when surrounded by patience, warmth, and celebration.

Parents described the morning assembly as a truly uplifting experience, one that beautifully showcased the confidence, learning, and joy of Grade 1B. They appreciated how the children brought the winter season to life through clear narration, expressive performances, and a cheerful winter song. Many felt proud seeing their children take on roles of responsibility and speak with confidence in front of an audience.

The parent-child activity that followed added an extra layer of meaning to the event. Families enjoyed the creative task of transforming old coffee jars into decorative mason jars, valuing the opportunity to work alongside their children and engage in a purposeful, hands-on project. Parents shared that the activity encouraged creativity, strengthened bonding, and highlighted the importance of reusing everyday items in meaningful ways.
