ALLAMA IQBAL

Allama Iqbal was a prominent philosopher, poet, and politician in British India who is widely regarded as the “Spiritual Father of Pakistan”.

Iqbal Day is celebrated annually on November 9th in Pakistan to honour the birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a pivotal figure who conceptualised the idea of a separate Muslim state in the Indian subcontinent. The day serves as a national tribute to his profound philosophical poetry and his critical political vision, which provided the ideological bedrock for the creation of Pakistan. Through various national events and educational programs, the celebration aims to remember his timeless message of self-realisation (Khudi), unity, and spiritual awakening, thereby inspiring the nation’s youth to uphold the values and principles upon which their country was founded.

Allama Iqbal’s dream for Pakistan, in essence, was for it to be a moral, progressive, and self-sufficient Muslim state where the universal ethical ideals of Islam could be realised in a modern context.
