Hi! My name is Zara. I am a 5th grader in Beaconhouse School System.<\/span><\/p>\n Okay, so when you read the title you might be like “Zara stop overreacting, it must be<\/span><\/p>\n nothing.” Well wait until you hear the actual trauma I am actually talking about.<\/span><\/p>\n It was after iftar on a random Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n I was completely zoned out on the couch, holding my iPad like it was the only way I<\/span><\/p>\n survived 90% of the day. That’s when I overheard my mom and sister’s conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n We have online classes. Thank god my iPad has my school email because I opened<\/span><\/p>\n Google Classroom and saw the notification:<\/span><\/p>\n “Subject: Temporary Shift to Online Classes<\/span><\/p>\n Dear Students,<\/span><\/p>\n Please note that classes from Pre-Nursery to Grade 7 and Grade 9C will shift to<\/span><\/p>\n online mode starting Tuesday, 10th March, until Tuesday, 31st March 2026.”<\/span><\/p>\n My mind just shut down.<\/span><\/p>\n That message felt like the world had ended. Like how could they do this to me? How<\/span><\/p>\n would I manage with two other siblings that have the same timings as me? Two<\/span><\/p>\n rooms, three kids. How would I surviveeee!!!!<\/span><\/p>\n Then I realized\u2014of course\u2014there is a spare room downstairs I could use.<\/span><\/p>\n BUT.<\/span><\/p>\n My sister would then take the room we shared, which has all my stuff. Plus she has<\/span><\/p>\n an advantage. Her class starts first, so while I’m still changing she can start her class<\/span><\/p>\n and then I can’t disturb her. OMG!!! This is such a nightmare.<\/span><\/p>\n Well, let’s see how I survive a month without school. Okay not really a month, but we don’t care because it will feel like a billion trillion years.<\/span><\/p>\n
