I’ve learned that magic hides in the smallest things: colorful socks, random doodles, talking to my plants, or even dancing in the kitchen when no one’s watching. Life doesn’t need to be serious all the time; sometimes it just needs a sprinkle of curiosity, a pinch of silliness, and a whole lot of imagination. Here’s how I started adding a little whimsy into every day.

No saving things for “special” days, wear the nice perfume and use the good plates. Today is literally happening, so it counts.

Give inanimate objects personalities. My mug is loyal, my keys to the snack drawer have avoidant tendencies and disappear without warning. Bonus points if you add googly eyes.

Talking to myself out loud, narrating my morning routine, my coffee spills, my little wins just for the fun of it.

Picking a colour a day, I look for it everywhere during the day. It makes me feel like I’m playing a game with the universe.

Pretending I’m preparing for a quest when I go grocery shopping, I have to gather supplies for a long and harrowing journey ( the cookies I’m making on Tuesday night ).

I always carry a tiny bottle of bubbles, in case of an emergency.

Giving my friends fun stickers, for absolutely no reason.

Always have a fun book to get lost in, whenever you’re free.

Getting my steps in! Being outside and moving my body always makes me feel so happy, bonus points if you have your favourite drink with you in a fun glass. (Plus I love seeing and interacting with all the animals and flowers).

Romanticising getting ready each day which makes me feel girly and cute.

Put on colourful mix and matched socks, just for extra pizazz.

Try new hobbies like sewing, crochet, junk journaling, water-colouring or flower pressing.

Adding a bit of whimsy doesn’t require big changes — just small, playful choices that make your days more joyful and imaginative!

Urwah Ammad Lodhi| Grade VIII-A Welcome to Whimsical 101 — my crash course in turning ordinary days into tiny adventures.… Continue reading Whimsy 101: How to Bring Whimsy into Your Life

[2
84,85,86
post-156","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-middle-school","tag-gratitude","tag-growth-mindset","tag-well-being","entry
["GET
