When I first heard about the I20 (Impact 20) initiative, I knew I wanted to be part of it. The idea that each of us could create a ripple of change by dedicating just 10 hours of training to teachers in low-cost schools resonated deeply with me. It wasn’t just about hours or checklists — it was about sharing what we’ve learned, growing together, and building bridges of knowledge that extend far beyond our classrooms.
Through I20, I had the
opportunity to collaborate with passionate teachers who bring incredible creativity and resilience to their classrooms, often with very limited
resources. Together, we explored innovative teaching methods, discussed challenges, and celebrated small wins that make a big difference in the learning journeys of countless students.
Every session reaffirmed one simple truth: when teachers empower teachers, students thrive. Seeing the enthusiasm and determination of educators eager to learn new strategies — from interactive lesson design to student-centered learning — was both inspiring and humbling.
This initiative, launched as part of Beaconhouse’s 50th anniversary celebrations, reminds us that education is not confined within the walls of a single institution. It’s a shared mission, one that unites us in our pursuit of quality learning for every child, everywhere.
As I reflect on my I20 journey, I feel grateful to have played even a small part in this movement. It has strengthened my belief that true impact begins when we step outside our own classrooms and lend a hand to those shaping futures alongside us.
Here’s to making education accessible, inclusive, and transformative — one session, one teacher, and one student at a time.
