“The more that you read, the more things you will know.

The more that you learn the more places you’ll go.”

Dr. Seuss

Beaconhouse Kindergarten II North Nazimabad recently hosted an event “Reading Adventure” in accordance with International Library Month 2022 extending the global theme of the year, ‘Reading for Global Peace and Harmony’.

The event included a variety of theme-based activities to bring parents, children, and teachers together for promoting the love for reading. One of the highlights of Reading Adventure was ‘Character Parade’ performed by children of all levels. Energetic song presentations related to reading were also prepared and well executed.

Various learning stations were designed to enlighten the visitors with strategies to support literacy related learning and ways to promote engagement with reading and books.

The event was organized to enhance language and literacy skills and further develop the child’s’ love for reading. All activities were well coordinated and appreciated by parents as well.

Additional Reading Adventure happenings included engaging storytelling session, art and craft, word search, treasure hunt and scrabble.

For young learners, a great deal of learning occurs before the recognition and ability to understand printed text. Reading out loud to children and providing them with exposure to books gives them an insightful learning experience including sight word recognition, exploring illustrations and understanding components such as sentence structure, spaces between words, use of capital letters, and punctuation marks.

Reading Adventure brought everyone together for an enjoyable day of reading, learning, and fun. We look forward to host many such events in future.
