Your body rests… but suddenly you are flying in the sky, talking to animals, or taking an exam without studying! Strange, right? Welcome to the magical world of dreams!

Dreams happen when we are in a deep stage of sleep called REM sleep. During this time, our brain becomes super active. Even though our body is resting, our mind is busy creating colorful stories, pictures, and adventures.

But why do we dream?

Scientists believe dreams help our brain organize memories. Throughout the day, we learn new lessons, meet people and feel different emotions. At night, our brain sorts all this information like a smart librarian arranging books. Dreams may also help us understand our feelings. If we are excited, nervous, or worried, those emotions can appear in our dreams. Sometimes dreams are happy and funny. Sometimes they are scary. This happens because our brain mixes imagination with real memories. It is like a movie director creating a film while we sleep!

Even today, dreams are still a mystery. Scientists continue to study them, but one thing is clear: dreaming is a sign that our brain is healthy and active. So tonight, when you go to sleep, remember—your mind is about to start its own secret adventure.

Muawiz Ali, III-B Close your eyes.
