Visitors learned that students use this area to take deep breaths and relax, demonstrating a practical understanding of managing big emotions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mood Books &amp; Drawings:<\/strong> The display showed how children track and express their internal worlds using <strong>Mood Books<\/strong> to record daily feelings and through colourful <strong>drawings of emotions<\/strong>. Drawing proved to be a key tool for communicating feelings that might be difficult to articulate verbally.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Feelings Through Music:<\/strong> This station highlighted the powerful connection between sound and emotion, showing how listening to different types of music can evoke different emotional responses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Happiness Poster:<\/strong> A collective art piece was proudly displayed, featuring drawings of the things that make the children happiest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Power of Play and Craft<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>The exhibition truly shone through the artistic and imaginative elements, proving that emotional learning can be incredibly fun and creative:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Feeling Monsters &amp; Pebble Art:<\/strong> These creative pieces were a clear highlight. The students created their own <strong>Feeling Monsters<\/strong>, with each monster representing a different emotion. This activity allowed the children to externalise and understand complex feelings by making them tangible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colour-Emotion Connection:<\/strong> Students showcased their grasp of <strong>emotional symbolism<\/strong>, demonstrating how different colours are consciously matched with different feelings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Practising Expressions:<\/strong> Through the &#8220;Feelings in the Mirror&#8221; activity, children demonstrated <strong>self-awareness<\/strong> by practising and identifying happy, sad, angry, and calm facial expressions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digital Literacy:<\/strong> The integration of technology was also featured, showing how the class worked on matching <strong>emojis with the correct feelings<\/strong> using a tablet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Engaging the Senses: The Sensory Stations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A key component of this PBL unit was connecting feelings to our <strong>five senses<\/strong>, which are fundamental to how we perceive and react to the world. The children guided visitors through a rich sensory experience at different dedicated stations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sight Station:<\/strong> Focused on using the eyes to see and distinguish between different colours and pictures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hearing Station:<\/strong> Dedicated to using ears to listen to and recognise different sounds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Smell Station:<\/strong> Focused on using the nose to experience both nice and strong smells.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Touch Station:<\/strong> Allowed children to use their hands to feel and describe different textures like soft, hard, rough, and smooth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This comprehensive approach showed that learning about emotions involves the whole body and all our senses.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to the students of <strong>Nursery <\/strong>and their dedicated teachers at <strong>Beaconhouse Johar Town Junior<\/strong> for a truly exemplary PBL Culmination Day.
