Mathematics Rising Star workshop was conducted for parents of Kindergarteners by the teachers at Johar Town Junior Branch in the month of September. The purpose of this session was about knowing the CPA (Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract) approach, mastery in mathematics, the critical elements of this approach and experiencing its effectiveness through different learning opportunities designed for children. Parents were explained how the lesson plan is structured, how the reference book and practice books work and what kind of mathematical experiences children would be exposed to in classes. It was truly an interactive session where parents were being motivated to put themselves in their child’s shoes to experience CPA approach using concrete resources, pictorial evidences (images, videos etc.) and then the Abstract stage where they reached to the mastery level and reflected their learning. All the sessions were well organized and went really smooth. The queries and concerns of the parents were addressed by the Headmistress, branch coordinator and the teachers. The parents were full of praises after attending this informative session especially designed for them.
