A Celebration of Creativity, Collaboration, and Sustainability
Johar Town Junior Branch recently hosted an exciting Inter-House STEMatics Competition that captivated students and showcased their remarkable talents. More than just a contest, this event was a dynamic blend of creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork, offering a powerful platform for young minds to explore sustainability in innovative ways.
The competition began with a challenging quiz round, featuring thought-provoking questions centred around sustainability and environmental science. Students from all kindergarten sections actively participated, impressing judges and peers alike with their knowledge and awareness. Next came the Puzzle-Solving Round, where students had to assemble fragmented pieces into meaningful images. This activity tested their problem-solving abilities and encouraged teamwork under pressure.
In the “Circle Challenge” round, students were given a simple circle and asked to transform it into 20 different objects. From wheels to pizza slices, their imaginative interpretations were both inspiring and inventive, proving that even the simplest shapes can spark brilliant ideas when seen through creative eyes. The final round showcased 3d sustainability projects designed by the students. Each model addressed a real-world environmental challenge, including renewable energy innovations and creative ways to reduce plastic waste. The range and depth of ideas displayed a strong commitment to sustainability and a hopeful vision for the future.
Two exceptional students stood out and were selected to represent Johar Town Junior Branch at the inter-branch competition. Their outstanding projects not only earned them first place but also served as a proud “wow” moment for the entire school community.
STEMATICS Competition was an enriching experience that nurtured essential 21st-century skills in our young learners. By fostering collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, the event empowered students to become thoughtful, innovative problem-solvers ready to shape a more sustainable world.
