On Monday, 22nd of November, a humorous mushaira was held at North Nazimabad Middle Campus. Students from various sections of Grade 8 participated in the Mushaira and brought the lightheartedness of humorous poetry to stage and made the event a success.
They all worked hard to prepare for the event, rehearsing numerous times a day. Students not only presented works from national legends like Syed Zameer Jaffri and Anwar Masood but also showcased their own poetry. Let’s acknowledge the students who stunned us with their original poems, Saad Siddiqui of 8-N, Mohsin Abbas, Maaz Ahmed and Ayan Shakir from 8-I.
All thirteen poets not only memorized the poetry but also presented them in a remarkable fashion, with proper Urdu pronunciation, intonation, rhythm and tone. The creative costumes of the poets, they were representing, further elevated the performances. This activity raised confidence in students and helped spark a new appreciation for our mother tongue. We also want to acknowledge the Organizers who provided continuous support and guidance to make the show a success. A round of applause for our Urdu teachers Ms. Afshan Mazhar, Ms. Aliya Jaffer, Ms. Sughra Banu thank you for your efforts.
The stage was beautifully designed and decorated by our Art teachers Ms. Saleha Shaukat and Ms. Nazia Salman. The cries of ‘irshaad’ and ‘mukarrir’ heard throughout the show were a testament to how engaging the event was.
