To commemorate the continuous struggle of Kashmiris, students spent the day immersed in different activities. They discussed the plight of Kashmiri people during the class conversation and what can be done to bring global attention to the issue.
Teachers guided students through this complex and charged issue, and also tried to illuminate and spark curiosity about the topic in these young minds. They talked about the foundational causes of the Kashmir issue and participated energetically, quoting dates and historic facts. From there, they shepherded the discussion towards present day concerns, and the undeniable plight of the Kashmiri people. They also talked about modern human rights, and how Kashmiris are deprived of some of the most crucial ones, like representation, education and pursuit of happiness.
Students were quite charged, volunteering endearing and daring ideas. Students then penned a personal pledge, to share with family and friends on how they wanted to honor and show solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.
