Work environment matters ! By Rohma Shah

There was a time when I started to lose faith in my teaching profession. My previous job was quite exhausting. Every day felt heavier than the last—not because of physical work, but because there was no appreciation, no motivation, and no growth. There was hardly any motivation and appreciation and my efforts often went unnoticed.

Then, one day, everything changed.

I received a call from Beaconhouse Federal .B Area Campus, and that moment turned out to be a turning point in my career. I was excited but also nervous. I knew Beaconhouse has a strong system and different policies, and I wasn’t sure if I would fit in.

But from the beginning, I started regaining my confidence.

The School Head was extremely kind and supportive throughout  the interview, demo lesson and BELT. All the senior teachers motivated me so much. When I was selected, I felt something I hadn’t felt since a long time.

In my  first month, we had our Sports Day, and even though I was new, everyone made me feel comfortable. I was encouraged, appreciated, and even received a medal as token of appreciation by the management ,which filled my heart with happiness and pride.

Week by week, I started learning new skills, especially in IT. The support from my colleagues helped me grow. What I love the most about Beaconhouse is that it makes me feel like a family. We clap for each others’ success, support each other in tough times, and celebrate every small achievement together.

Another memorable moment was our Annual School Concert. It was a mega event, and I was nervous again. But the School Head, Coordinators, and senior teachers guided me at every step from helping in rehearsals to arranging costumes. Their teamwork and encouragement helped made the event a huge success. I even received another title of appreciation, which boosted my motivation even more.

Today, Beaconhouse is a happy place for me. Every day, I am eager to learn something new. The appreciation and support make me feel blessed to be part of this esteemed organisation. I now truly believe that I chose the right profession, and I am more determined than ever to work harder in the coming years.

Thank you, Beaconhouse Federal B. Area Campus, for bringing back my confidence and reminding me why I became a teacher.
