Dignity Matters

Dignity refers to showing the same respectable behaviour that we expect from others. It is the most important aspect to build our social, physical, behavioural as well as psychological relationships with others. Beaconhouse School System has always played a significant role in ensuring dignity at all levels. Every year its importance is being emphasized with much more deliberation and diligence and all Beaconhouse schools are encouraged to help in building the community with dignified habits and the idea of rightfully owning dignity.

Global Dignity Celebration

Beaconhouse School System Primary III Campus, North Nazimabad embraced the whole month of October to celebrate interactive activities with students from Pre Nursery till Class II. The event was celebrated to make people realize their basic rights and equality as human beings. The first activity was related to the announcement of Dignity ambassadors followed by an assembly of their pledges. Pre Nursery students created a beautiful Dignity tree with simple Dignity quotes, they had a Dignity parade with a poster in hands and slogans in the air. The children also extended their gratitude towards the support staff by distributing snack boxes to them. Nursery level students displayed their enchanting Artwork on the permanent Dignity wall, they made colourful paper bouquets for support staff and other members in the school. Kindergarten students did their part through a moral-based performance, they also shared their messages for respecting people in the community. Class Is and IIs performed activities in their classes to promote empathy and self-compassion with others. They created sparkling lamps and talked about how every lamp is different but one thing each lamp has in common is its light. The light of the lamp is like a person’s spirit or heart and each light (person) deserves to be respected and loved no matter what their lamp (body) looks like. Class II completed a craft by making a personalized bucket and then making ‘dignity drops’ for their classmates. On the drops, the students wrote kind things about their classmates, things that they are good at, and drew pictures for them. The buckets were then displayed in the classroom for another five weeks with extra drops for students to continue to use.
