Land is the solid surface of our Earth. We live on land because it provides everything we need to stay alive. There are trees, grass, mountains, and many other things on land. We can breathe, walk, jump, run, and exercise on land. We can also build buildings on it. Earth provides a place for us to live and grow. Land is used for farming to produce food, and it can also be a source of valuable resources.
We should protect land from pollution and destruction because it is essential for our survival. Land plays an important role in Earth’s climate system, being involved in the carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, and water cycle. One third of land is covered by trees, another third is used for agriculture, and one tenth is covered by permanent snow and glaciers. The rest consists of deserts, savannahs, and prairies. We must conserve nature by saving water, recycling waste, and planting more trees to protect our land.
