An interschool Urdu Adab competition, organized by Beaconhouse Cambridge Campus North Nazimabad on Friday, 25th November 2022.
The event format was inclusive and provided the students with a platform to develop and use their Urdu poetry recitation, Ghazal rendering and Dastan goi skills. The school was decorated to depict an era of mughals where Urdu poetry flourished. Students were dressed up in characters represting famous urdu poets such as Allama Iqbal,Parveen Shakir etc ,others represnted famous urdu novel characters suc as Chacha chakan, Laila Majnoon,Shirin Farhad Rustam Suhrab etc.
Event started with Dastangoi, that was all about reliving the oldest art of storytelling in Urdu language followed by Urdu poetry recitation.Students exbit their talents by drawing their depiction of Allama Iqbals’ poetry.
Efforts of each student was appreciated with applause and a certificate of participation.Our students had this wonderful opportunity of learning something that has been present for years and needs restoration for the good of the youth. Students realized that they need to work towards restoring the ancient art for the sake of authenticity and usefulness for students of today.
