Sharing empathy is one of the most wonderful aspects of the human experience. Thursday 4th November 2021, a group of students from the Beaconhouse Cambridge branch, visited the Azhur Iqra school to commemorate the 46th anniversary of Beaconhouse by giving back to the community and celebrating by educating in all forms. Azhur Iqra, an underprivileged school, had been decorated in honor of this event. Beaconhouse students arranged an array of activities ranging from science and mathematics to storytelling and making jewelry. The younger children were taught the importance of hygiene, arts and crafts, origami, etc. The older students learned the art of storytelling through famous stories in Urdu literature and were given speeches on how to build confidence. There were stalls set up for science and English where students honed their critical thinking skills and participated in skill development activities. The children showed keen interest in the various topics.

Games and prizes were used to encourage healthy competition and awarded to the best performers. Beaconhouse also provided each student with stationery and small gifts. The underprivileged students interacted with great zeal and enthusiasm making this event a great success and proving that lack of facilities is not a hindrance in the pursuit of knowledge.
