Allama Muhammad Iqbal the ‘Poet of the East’ was born on 9th November, 1877.
Allama Iqbal, was a South Asian Muslim writer, philosopher, and politician, whose poetry in Urdu and Persian language is among the greatest of the twentieth century.
He envisaged for a separate Muslim country and is known as the ‘Spiritual father of Pakistan’ for motivating the Muslims in British India.
His birth anniversary is celebrated as Iqbal Day every year to pay tribute to his contributions and strong determination towards the awakening of the Muslims of the subcontinent through his Urdu philosophical poetry on teachings of Islam.
Our special morning assembly presentation commenced with recitation and translation from the Holy Quran followed by a speech on his life and work. Students exquisitely performed on his iconic poem ‘Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa.’
The assembly presentation ended with Iqbal’s poem ‘Lab pay aati hai dua ban kay tamanna meri’ presented by our young energetic students from Class 4 section A.
Allama Iqbal’s work relentlessly reminds us how to lead our lives as a true Muslim and achieve success.
This thought provoking quote by Iqbal directs the Muslims to victory:
“Failure is not fatal until we surrender, trying again is the key of glorious victory!”
