A nation’s culture resides in the heart and the soul of its people. Cultural celebrations foster respect and open-mindedness for other cultures. Celebrating our differences, as well as our common interests, help unite and educate us. To understand other’s perspectives, to broaden our own, and to fully experience and educate ourselves.
Students of grade 4 depicted Pakistani diversity beautifully; ‘Pakistan; a country of many cultures’ by showing the different cultures found in Pakistan. Students were divided into groups representing the diversity that exists in our homeland. Children displayed the dresses, cuisine, the popular music and dances and festivals celebrated not only in each province but within each province as well. Students took help from their teachers, textbooks, internet and their families.
Each group decorated and displayed information and photographs using various mediums like paper and chart papers.
Furthermore, students even learnt some words and phrases of different regional languages. On the culmination day students dressed up in traditional dresses and brought traditional food items depicting the different cultures of Pakistan. They described the uniqueness of each province and region of Pakistan and celebrated the diversity that exists.
