Sports have proven to develop life skills in students. It helps in regulating emotions with development of self-esteem. Sports foster enhancement of social skills such as cooperation, patience and empathy. It also brings numerous physical health benefits and nurtures decision making power in youngsters.  It instils qualities such as discipline, sportsmanship and leadership.

Primary Campus- I, North Nazimabad organized Annual Sports Day, 2022 at “Muhammad Siddique Memon Scout Sports Complex” for their young energetic students from Classes 1 to 7 to showcase their skills.

The theme for the sports day was:

“Sports – Unity in diversity

Fitter – Healthier – Happier!”

The idea behind the theme was to display harmony and encourage teamwork among students from diverse backgrounds. Unity in Diversity makes us respect others’ beliefs and develop acceptance. The theme also emphasized on staying healthy.

The event began with recitation and translation from the Holy Quran followed by National Anthem. Members of the 4 houses gathered in the court by marching gracefully behind the Head boy, Head girl, House Captains and Vice Captains who carried the flags to take the oath and witness the opening ceremony.

 

The Annual Sports Day was declared open by our honourable guest Mrs Aisha Haseeb, Headmistress and cluster convener Primary Campus-2, North Nazimabad.

 

 

The audience witnessed the thrilling PE display by the entire student body who performed light exercises to the drum beat. These students were trained by their PE teacher Mr. Muhammad Naveed.

 

 

The energetic and melodious school choir, trained by our Music teacher Mr.Tahir Mehmood entertained the audience throughout the event by singing different songs.

 

Gymnastics plays a vital role in maintaining health and fitness. Students of classes 3 and 4 flabbergasted the audience with their flexibility, balance and coordination giving a surprising display of: Cartwheel, forward roll, cobra, pyramid and bridge formation and jumps on the spring board.

Next, the audience was fascinated by the talent of students from classes 1 and 2 through yoga display. Yoga is a harmonious balance between mind, body and soul measured in tender peaceful moments. Students displayed 21 yoga poses which were a combination of physical postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation. The performance was breath taking and received tremendous applaud by the audience.

 

The Band Display by students from Class V was exhilarating as they performed on the beat of the side drums and bass drums. They also used flutes and tambourines to present different tunes. The drum solo proved to be the most spectacular presentation which was appreciated by a thunderous round of applaud.

And last but certainly not the least was the Taekwondo Display put up by the students of classes 6 and 7. This Korean form of martial art teaches techniques of self-defense. This art is a brilliant way of achieving mental balance and developing better control of the body. Students’ performances gained them tremendous appreciation by the audience and why not for it was a breath taking performance indeed!

In the end it was time for the most awaited fete; The Track Events! Our young athletes showcased their full strength as they ran towards the finish line. Each and every student was a part of the Annual Sports Day. The winners were awarded with trophies and others received medals of participation. Photographs of the event were expertly captured throughout the Event. An extraordinary day came to an end with a display of good sportsman spirit and competition by the students of Primary Campus I, North Nazimabad.
