Looking back at the past and learning about the ancient civilizations is among few of the exotic attractions our Beaconites find at NNPII.<\/p>\n
This time the Project Based Learning was carried out on The Indus Valley Civilisation which was discovered in the early 1900s by a British archaeologist named John Marshall.<\/p>\n
Students of Grade V and VI enthusiastically participated in the activity about the topic \u2018Indus Valley Civilization\u2019 in Social Studies.<\/p>\n
To illustrate the architecture of the city, little historians used empty shoe boxes and thermocol sheets.<\/p>\n
By building houses, baths, granaries, and drainage systems, they portrayed the lifestyle of the Indus valley people.<\/p>\n
Stones, beads, and shells were used to make bracelets and necklaces. Models of toys and tools were also made with the help of clay and plaster of Paris.<\/p>\n
Little historians also designed posters to highlight the importance of the writing system, religion, professions etc in the life of the people of Indus Valley.<\/p>\n
Students also created seals and pots with clay. For that purpose a \u2018Potter\u2019s wheel\u2019 was arranged at school. Students played with the clay and designed a variety of pots. They also wrote inscriptions on seals with the help of toothpicks and illustrated pictures with stencils.<\/p>\n
It was a great learning experience for the students of Grade Vs and VIs, as they gained a better understanding of Indus Valley life.<\/p>\n
