Sing Fest 2021-22

Music education plays a significant role in providing a balanced education. It helps students to cultivate confidence and shows them ways to exhume their hidden talents.

 Beaconhouse School System caters the maximum prospects in holistic nurturing of future personalities of its students. With a dedicated curriculum of music education, music teacher of BSS NNPII Sir Syed Khalid Bukhari organized an interesting activity “Sing fest 2021-22” under the far-sighted guidance of HM Aisha Haseeb.

 All students from grade 1 till 5 gave auditions. A considerate criteria was designed to select the truly talented and inspired others to work harder for the next time.

 Students were allowed to select any age appropriate songs either in English or Urdu. However, in the case of Urdu songs they had to select Pakistani national songs, OST songs , pop or folk songs.

They competed in audition and elimination rounds and qualifiers reached the contest in the final round.

In the Audition round, participants sang one stanza without music.

In Elimination round, contestants sang two stanzas with music.

In Final round, the qualifiers of elimination round sang full song with music and were judged for the following five criteria;

  • Quality of voice (Tone & Timbre)
  • Note Rendition ( Pitch)
  • Quality of Rhythm ( Tempo-Beat)
  • Enunciation (Dynamics-Diction)
  • Performance (Body Language)

Sir Syed Khalid Bukhari prepared the participants well and mentored them to improve overall performance.

 This activity created a healthy atmosphere where kids cherished their own talent and exhibited responsible behaviors. The very essence of music in developing children’s personalities at both individual and collective level was observed throughout this endeavor. 

The winners were awarded trophies and certificates in a special award distribution ceremony and their win inspired others to strive for the best.
