Recently, students from Grade 5 conducted a project on the conservation of ecosystems. The aim was to raise awareness and understanding about the importance of preserving our environment. Through this project, they sought to identify how we can all contribute towards conserving our planet’s natural resources and biodiversity.
The students began their project by researching different areas of school ecosystem such as playground,terrace area and garden.They identified some common threats that school ecosystem faced such as less dustbins in the playground,dead or thin grass in the garden,diseased plants in the garden,leaky faucet on terrace area, litter in the ground, unavailability of compost bin etc.
Students looked into ways in which they can help protect the school ecosystem including reducing the amount of waste that is produced, recycling, reusing ,making bird feeders and compost bins etc.They even planted seeds in small recycled pots to make school ecosystem clean and green.
They also explore renewable
of energy sources instead of fossil fuels.They also make posters and ran an awareness campaign in the school talking about the importance of 4R’s.
