Debating culture reflects the alacrity of a society. It enables every member of society to exercise their critical thinking and suggest improvement for a better environment. The crucial task of following the right direction is always nurtured by debating both sides of an issue.

Holding debates competitions on the school levels stipulates students to explore real-world topics and problems. Debates engage students in a mindful process of self-reflection. This activity empowers young minds with the ability of improved articulation, critical thinking and research engulfed with sense of responsibility.

On 2nd November’ 22, BSS NNPII hosted the “Annual Intra Cluster English Debate Competition” for session 2022-23.

The programme was started with the soulful recitation of Holy Quran by Muhammad Ibadullah Khan of Class VI-E followed by translation done by Hafsa Younus of Class V-F.

Students of Grade 4s, 5s and 6s from NNP I, NNPII and NNP VI participated enthusiastically and proved their mantle in front of their Parents, Teachers and Jury consisted of Ms.Sumbul Iram; Senior English Teacher at North Nazimabad Cambridge Branch and Ms.Aisha Tazeen Malik; SL English at Middle Branch, North Nazimabad.

The topics were selected thoughtfully as per Grade Level to cater the level of understanding. These topics not only provided the maximum comfort zone for students to search and prepare arguments, but helped them explore their inner analytical thought process.

Electrifying song performances by Abiha Batool of Class V-B and Aariz Shariff of Class V-B kept the spirit of competition alive.

Teachers from participating branches mentored the debate participants with their best efforts and helped them craft meaningful arguments .

Precise and intricate presentations and resolutions of conflicts by Debaters, while defending their point of view, made the competition an spectacular show of wit and confidence.

The successful event was a joint effort of all English Teachers under the continuous support and guidance of Cluster Convener Head Mistress Incharge Ms. Aisha Haseeb and the whole SLT.

The golden distinctive rule of Beaconhouse School System radiated at the time of result announcement when all participants were pronounced winners.
