Whew! Another event done and dusted with! This year, Beaconhouse NNKG Branch I celebrated ‘World Education Day’ through peer teaching. We believe that children learn more when they interact with each other. The activity, which was organised by the Literary Club, helped students to take inspiration from each other, boost their confidence, polish their communication skills, and develop leadership skills.

Students of Class Two taught students of Nursery and Kindergarten level basic concepts of Math and English. They implemented what they learnt during their own lessons and made use of their knowledge and strategies as well! They did their best to make things simple for their younger peers and helped them complete their written tasks. Certificates were awarded to the tutors in appreciation of their efforts.

Our organisation strives to prepare students to meet the challenges of the modern world in order for them to become good and useful citizens. We emphasise on conceptual learning and lean towards teaching our students how to think rather than what to think. We understand the role of education in sustainable development and train our students to become problem solvers and implement what they learn in their everyday life.

In connection to World Education Day ‘support staff teaching programme’ was initiated in order to educate them with the basic language concepts. Through this programme they will be able to read and write simple words and sentences.

As Einstein said:

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think”

Happy World Education Day!
