We are elated to announce that we are the winners of the prestigious ‘British Council International School Award 2021’ for embedding international awareness and understanding in the curriculum and involving the wider community. The ceremony was held in Pearl Continental on November 25, 2021.

Our learners and teachers embarked on this engaging journey in November, 2019 to collaborate with both national and international schools. Through this programme learners developed an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and became aware of global issues and how they could be a part of the solution.

Learners collaborated across borders with learners in Yemen and familiarized themselves with names of fruits and vegetables in Arabic and taught them the same in Urdu. They also shared their learning with friends and family.  Learners also got a chance to share ways to save the environment with learners in Egypt by making posters and presenting their ideas to them. They also learnt about the environmental issues in Egypt and possible solutions. Another international learning exposure that our learners had was with learners in Nigeria where they exchanged information about clean energy and how it can be an environment friendly alternative.

We also had an opportunity to collaborate with national schools for myriad activities. Learners gathered and shared information related to the importance of saving endangered animals. Learners along with their parents gained an insight about the importance of managing emotions effectively. A session with the meteorologist also gave learners an idea about the effects of climate change on the environment and performed role plays to showcase their understanding. They spread awareness about children’s rights in school through activities and a rally.

The entire project of ISA brought learners closer to becoming global citizens.
