Students of Nursery sections opened the new theme of their curriculum. The theme \u201cFruits<\/strong>\u201d was celebrated with enthusiasm in the form of fruit salad activity. Students came to school dressed in beautiful colorful dresses. They brought variety of fruits for the fruit salad making. The seasonal fruits included oranges, banana, grapes, dates, pomegranate and kiwi.<\/p>\n

Fruits are an excellent source of essential vitamins and minerals, and they are high in fiber. Fruits also provide a wide range of health-boosting antioxidants, including flavonoids. Eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables can reduce different diseases.<\/p>\n

Beautiful arrangements of fruits was done by the teachers along with the learning corners.<\/p>\n

Students participated in salad making activity and juice making activity. Students participated with zeal and zest in all the activities. Vocabulary related to the letter \u201cF\u201d was also introduced and the word \u201cFruit\u201d was also highlighted.<\/p>\n

Children learned the sequencing through fruit salad making with help of their teachers. Reading corner with multiple \u201cf\u201d flashcards and the reader \u201cOlivers Fruit Salad\u201d was placed for students to read and learn.<\/p>\n

\u201cOlivers Fruit Salad<\/strong>\u201d written by Vivian French illustrated by Alison Bartlett is a story of a little boy who does not like to eat fruits. Oliver went to the shopping market and brought fruits with his mum. Later at home Gran, Oliver, mum and grandpa chopped up the fruits and made a big bowl of fruit salad. Oliver was tempted by the scrumptious looking fruit salad and he ate his bowl of fruit salad.<\/p>\n

This story helped students to learn about the importance of fruits. The engaging activities planned in school helped children learn many other benefits of fruits and the vocabulary related to \u201cF\u201d.<\/p>\n

The joyous activities came to an end with a power pack performance of the children on fruit related songs. Students went bananas after the activities. They had a lot of fun. They did a plum job with the fruit salad.<\/p>\n
