Leaders Show the Way: “Putting First Things First!”
Today, we had the pleasure of witnessing an inspiring morning assembly presentation by our talented Grade 2 students. They tackled the important topic of the 3rd Habit of Highly Effective People: “Put First Things First.” Let’s dive into the wisdom they shared with us.
The assembly started with the name of Allah. Then the students explained about the 3rd Habit. This Habit encourages us to prioritize our tasks and responsibilities wisely. Just like a builder starts with the foundation of a house, we should start our day by tackling the most important tasks first.
Our Grade 2 students began by explaining how they’ve learned to set priorities. They shared examples of everyday choices, like choosing homework over TV or reading before bedtime. These simple decisions help them become more organized and responsible. Time is like a treasure chest, and managing it is crucial. Our young leaders taught us that by putting first things first, we become excellent time managers. They shared how they use schedules and planners to stay on track with their schoolwork and activities.
It’s easy to get distracted by video games, social media, or other fun activities. However, our Grade 2 students reminded us that resisting these temptations until our important tasks are done is a mark of true leadership. They’ve learned to say, “I’ll play after I finish my work,” and it has made them more successful students.
Sometimes, we need to say “no” to invitations or activities that might lead us away from our goals. Our young leaders showed us that it’s perfectly okay to decline and focus on what’s most important. This helps us keep our commitments and responsibilities in check.
The 3rd Habit goes beyond tasks; it’s about being responsible and accountable. Our students shared their experiences of taking ownership of their actions and commitments. They’ve shown us that being reliable and true to our word is the mark of a great leader.
In conclusion, theĀ morning assembly presentation has left us with valuable lessons. The 3rd Habit, “Put First Things First,” is about making wise choices, managing our time, and being responsible. Our young leaders have demonstrated that by following this habit, we can become more effective in all areas of our lives.
A big round of applause to our Grade 2 leaders for their outstanding presentation. We look forward to more inspiring messages from our students in the future. Thank you for joining us on this journey of growth and learning!
