At Askari-10, we are committed to providing a holistic and effective education that goes beyond traditional methods. One cornerstone of our teaching philosophy is the CPA Approach, a methodology designed to enhance learning by integrating Concrete, Pictorial, and Abstract elements. The CPA Approach fosters a deep and lasting understanding of concepts, ensuring that our students not only grasp the material but also develop critical thinking skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Excitement filled the Lower Primary classrooms as our budding mathematicians in Grade 1 embarked on a thrilling hands-on activity, ushering in a new chapter in their mathematical journey. This time, the focus was on the captivating world of multiplication and division.
With the guidance of our dedicated teachers, a new chapter has unfolded, inviting young minds to explore the magic of numbers through hands-on activities.
The introduction to this chapter was met with wide-eyed curiosity as our budding mathematicians were introduced to the concepts of multiplication and division. Teachers skillfully laid the foundation for understanding these mathematical operations by providing a unique and interactive learning experience.
Armed with counters and a spirit of exploration, the students delved into array activities, where they counted rows and columns to unravel the secrets of multiplication. The classroom became a canvas of creativity as tiny hands arranged counters, turning abstract concepts into tangible, visual patterns.
But the adventure didn’t stop there. To illuminate the concept of division, students were handed glasses and a delightful array of straws and counters. The room echoed with the sounds of collaboration and discovery as our young learners created different groups within the glasses, bringing the concept of division to life in a playful and engaging manner.
As the straws and counters found their places in the glasses, multiplication statements and division groups emerged, transforming mathematical theory into a hands-on experience. The joy and enthusiasm radiating from the students reflected a genuine understanding and appreciation for the mathematical marvels they were uncovering.
This immersive introduction has set the stage for a dynamic exploration of multiplication and division in the coming weeks. We are excited to witness the continued growth of our Grade 1 mathematicians as they navigate these concepts through interactive and creative learning experiences. Keep up the good work Champs !!
