This wasn’t just any math event.
This… was Mathemania, a full-blown, in-house, math-tastic face-off between our feisty little mathematicians from KG Yellow, Indigo, Red, White, Blue, and Orange! Each section came in armed with number knowledge, shape swagger, and the kind of math confidence that made calculators tremble.
Round One: Shape Detectives 🔺🔵
“Is that a circle or an oval?!”
“Ma’am, this triangle has attitude.”
From cubes to cones, squares to something that was definitely not a square (but no one had the heart to say), our tiny detectives identified shapes like pros. One even declared, “This shape looks like my mum’s purse”, now that’s real-world application.
Round Two: What Time Is It, Anyway? ⏰
Children squinted at clock faces like they were ancient scrolls.
“Umm… It’s twelve o’clock!”
“It’s lunch time o’clock!”
Close enough. We saw a few wild guesses, some dramatic thinking poses, and one child confidently stating, “It’s bedtime!” (Nice try. Not falling for that one.)
Round Three: What Comes After Wednesday? 🗓️
A deceptively simple question.
What followed was a moment of pure silence, deep thinking, and a mini existential crisis.
“Thursday!”
“No, it’s Ice Cream Day!”
Both answers are valid in our hearts.
Round Four: Number Bond Bonanza 🧠
Who knew number bonds could feel like a live-action game show?
“Five and what makes ten?!”
“Uhh… spaghetti!”
(Incorrect but adorable. And we were also hungry by then.)
Round Five: Sequence Showdown🔢
Forward, backward, hop-skip-and-jump, the number sequencing was intense.
“Zero, one, two, three…”
“…banana, eleven, ten?”
Let’s just say it was a learning journey.
Final Round: The Shopping Spree 🛒💸
Armed with fake coins and serious bargaining skills, our kids stormed the pretend market.
“I’ll take three apples for two coins and throw in a free watermelon!”
One child tried buying a carrot with a smile. Bold move.
Another tried returning imaginary milk because it “looked suspicious.” We admire the critical thinking.
In the end, it wasn’t just about winning, it was about laughing, learning, and secretly wishing we could be that confident when answering, “What comes after Wednesday?” The competition was fierce, the math was loud, and the joy was off the charts. All sections did a phenomenal job, and we suspect some of them may now be plotting to take over the school shop. Until next year’s Mathemania, keep counting, keep calculating, and always remember:
Even if you say “hexagon” with flair, it still counts! 🔢😂
