Let the magic begin!
Students were introduced to a new reader “Abracadabra” in school.
A mesmerizing magic show was organized in the school. Children dressed up in beautiful magician costumes and followed the theme of black and white. Children were super excited to wear magic hats and flaunt their magic wands. Magic is something that everyone has heard of, yet not everyone believes it exists. The magic show organized at Beaconhouse Askari X was a way to introduce the new reader “Aabracadabra”.
Magic, which encompasses the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and close up magic, among others, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks, effects, or illusions of seemingly impossible feats, using natural means.
Students were encouraged to participate in the magic activities and perform magic tricks. Many of them showed up dressed as “The Great Magician”. Students came prepared with the magic tricks and were super excited to show off to their class fellows. Reading of the reader “Abracadabra” was done by the students. They really enjoyed the new reader and learned about the character “Finn” and learned about his science magic trick.
It was a fun filled activity that was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and teachers. The performance by the magician and the introduction of the reader was highly enjoyed by the kindergartners.
The activities ended with a lesson related to the reader in which children did the sorting of the digraphs “ai” and “air” words from the given worksheet. The task was independently done by the students.
Performing magic to family and friends is a wonderful way for children to learn to stretch themselves. It helps them learn to be unafraid to step into the public eye and perform for others. When their tricks succeed and their magic is received well, it can really give a positive boost to their self-confidence.
