Workflow Optimisation: Empowering Teachers to Empower Learners at BCLR<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At BCLR, professional development is designed to strengthen teaching practices by supporting both efficiency and well-being. A recent training session on Workflow Optimisation focused on helping teachers reflect on their daily routines, manage tasks effectively and reduce unnecessary stress. The underlying belief of the session remained clear: empowered teachers create empowered learners.
\n\"\"The training began with an engaging reflective activity in which teachers shared their daily routines using emojis. This activity encouraged participants to pause and think about how their time, energy and emotions are distributed throughout the day. It served as a strong starting point for recognising patterns and identifying areas for improvement.
\nThis was followed by a focused discussion on the concept of workflow optimisation. Teachers explored how organising tasks, streamlining processes and managing time intentionally can improve productivity without increasing workload. Emphasis was placed on working smarter rather than harder.
\nTo encourage active participation, Mentimeter poll questions were used during the session. These real-time responses allowed teachers to share perspectives, identify common challenges and engage in collective reflection, creating a sense of shared ownership and collaboration.
\nThe session then introduced different Prioritisation Techniques to help teachers distinguish between urgent and important tasks. These strategies supported educators in making informed decisions, reducing overwhelm, and maintaining focus on high-impact responsibilities.
\nA hands-on activity followed in which teachers identified stressors and culprits affecting their workflow. Using chits provided in envelopes, participants categorised common challenges and reflected on how these factors impact efficiency and well-being. This activity encouraged honest discussion and practical problem-solving.
\nOverall, the training reinforced BCLR\u2019s commitment to teacher empowerment. When teachers feel organised, supported and confident in managing their responsibilities, they are better able to create purposeful learning environments.
