Building Stronger Instructional Leaders: SKILL Training at BMI Campus
A focused and impactful training session was conducted at the BMI Campus for Instructional Coaches (ICs), namely Ms. Musleha Majid, Ms. Shaista un Nisa, and Ms. Shazia Yousaf. The training was facilitated by Mr. Zohaib Nazir, Manager PDSI, and Ms. Asima Obaid, Deputy Manager PDSI, and was designed exclusively to strengthen the effectiveness of ICs in their leadership and mentoring roles.
The training, titled SKILL Training—Skill and Knowledge for Instructional Learning and Leadership—aimed to develop a clear and in-depth understanding of the IC role. Throughout the session, participants were guided through their roles and responsibilities, with the Job Description (JD) discussed in detail to ensure clarity, alignment, and purpose.
A key focus of the training was on the qualities required to be an effective Instructional Coach, particularly in the areas of mentoring, training, and leadership. The ICs were trained to provide constructive and meaningful feedback, build positive rapport with trainees and mentees, and adopt a supportive, reflective approach to professional development.
The training proved to be immensely effective due to its highly interactive and hands-on nature. A variety of role plays and practical activities enabled the ICs to act out real-life situations commonly encountered in their roles. These activities were expertly facilitated by the trainers, who enriched the learning experience by offering valuable insights, practical strategies, and constructive suggestions to enhance coaching effectiveness.
Overall, the session was enriching and empowering, equipping the Instructional Coaches with greater confidence, clarity, and practical tools to perform their roles with increased impact and professionalism.
