Little Hands, Big Discoveries: Building Young Mathematicians at BCLR!

At BCLR, we believe that students learn best when they actively engage with concepts — and our Grade 1 mathematicians proved this beautifully in today’s hands-on Math lesson on weight and measurement.
Using weighing scales, students explored how to measure objects in grams and kilograms, transforming abstract concepts into real-life understanding. From tiny toys to everyday classroom items, each measurement became a moment of discovery, encouraging students to predict, test and think critically like true mathematicians.
Through such experiential learning opportunities, BCLR is intentionally training students to become confident problem-solvers and independent learners. These early experiences lay the foundation for strong mathematical thinking, curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.
Watching our young learners explore, question and celebrate their findings reminded us that at BCLR, we are not just teaching Math — we are nurturing amazing learners and future mathematicians
