Let the Light Shine In! Exploring Light with Sun Catchers
Our bright and curious Grade One students recently turned into little scientists and artists as they explored the magical world of light through an exciting hands-on investigation!
In a fun and creative activity, the young learners designed their very own sun catchers, beautiful decorations made with transparent and colored materials. As sunlight poured through their colorful creations, the students were amazed to see how light passes through some objects and creates dazzling visual effects!
Through this playful experiment, they discovered the science behind transparent materials and how light behaves when it meets different surfaces. They observed how some materials let light shine through clearly, while others changed the way the light looked, turning it into rainbows, colors and patterns.
The classroom was filled with wonder and excitement as each child proudly held up their glowing masterpiece to the light. It was learning at its brightest, combining science, art and a whole lot of discovery!
