🌞 Grade 5 Investigates the Greenhouse Effect! 🌱
Grade 5 students embarked on an exciting case study to explore the greenhouse effect and the gases that make it possible. Through this activity, they discovered that the greenhouse effect is a natural process that keeps Earth warm enough for life 🌍. They learned how the Sun’s rays reach Earth and how certain gases, like carbon dioxide, trap some of that heat—just like a greenhouse keeps plants cozy 🌿.
The students also discussed the impact of human activity. They realized that excess pollution leads to extra greenhouse gases, which can make Earth too hot and cause problems like melting ice, heatwaves, and climate change ❄️🔥.
To check their understanding, students used a Padlet wall as an interactive AFL (Assessment for Learning). They answered thought-provoking questions such as:
What causes global warming?
Which gases are involved in the greenhouse effect?
Through this activity, students not only deepened their understanding of climate science but also practiced sharing ideas digitally, showing curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking 💡🌎.
