🎨 Where Strategy Meets Creativity in Visual Arts
comprehensive Visual Arts workshop was conducted by Miss Mahreen, with members from the Art team and Early Years of Beaconhouse Civil Lines Campus, namely Ms. Natasha Ghazanfar, Ms. Noshaba Sehar, and Ms. Zainab Qureshi, in attendance. The session focused on advanced instructional strategies to support teachers in achieving attainment targets within visual arts education, aiming to strengthen both conceptual understanding and classroom application.
The workshop explored key curriculum strands, with particular emphasis on knowledge development and the elements of art. These foundational components were highlighted as essential in building students’ artistic literacy and enabling them to interpret, analyze and create artwork with purpose and confidence.
A key feature of the session was the use of role play as an effective pedagogical tool. Through interactive scenarios, teachers examined how role play can encourage critical thinking, support deeper interpretation of artworks and promote confident self-expression among students. This hands-on approach allowed participants to experience strategies that can be directly transferred into classroom practice.
Miss Mahreen also emphasized the importance of developing strong art-specific vocabulary, enabling students to articulate ideas clearly, analyze visual compositions thoughtfully and engage meaningfully with artistic concepts. Strengthening language within art learning was identified as a powerful way to enhance both understanding and expression.
Overall, the workshop successfully blended strategy with creativity, equipping educators with practical tools to nurture confident, reflective and knowledgeable young artists.
