Beaconhouse Model Town Junior Campus organised a Traditional Games Week to create cultural awareness about the traditional games played in Punjab.<\/p>\n

These traditional games create a sense of , diversity, fair play, inclusion, foster mutual understanding and tolerance among the students. They are also instrumental in the physical health and fitness of the students. One major advantage of these games are that they require minimal resources,and a great deal of imagination.<\/p>\n
The games played in Beaconhouse Model Town Junior Campus were:<\/p>\n
Pithoo<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\"\"<\/p>\n
This game two teams standing parallel to each other along with flat blocks stacked from and a soft ball. One team is responsible for guarding the stack and the other teams aim is to break down the stack with the ball, once the stack is broken down it is the responsibility of the guarding team to re-stack\u00a0without getting hit with the ball.<\/p>\n

Oonch Neech<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\"\"<\/p>\n
In this game there are two main aspects oonch which means a higher surface and neech means a lower surface. The aim of the game is to find a surface titled as oonch to avoid being caught being tagged. If a person is tagged then they have to try their best to make the others move down from their spots so that they can take over any spot and be saved from having to find an oonch surface.<\/p>\n

Aankh Micholi<\/strong><\/h3>\n
This is a very popular game which involves one person to be blindfolded, the blindfolded person then has to use their sense of hearing to catch and tag another person while being blindfolded. The person who is caught and tagged then has to wear the blindfold and repeat the process.<\/p>\n

Rassa Kashi<\/strong><\/h3>\n
This game involves teamwork and strength. It consists of two teams who are handed a rope on each end, between then is a border. The aim of the game is to make one team cross the border by pulling them forward.<\/p>\n
